Round One will be this coming Sunday. 21st April.
The new race session is under way with a rather wet and slippery Round One last Sunday. There was a good turnout of the largescale class showing what they can do on the wet astro. Although many of the Nitro buggies seemed to be having problems and struggled during the day.
It was good to get the old Punisher up and running for the first time since November, although with no shake down time since its complete rebuild, it needed a bit of nursing to get it around the track. But when the rain came down, the 4wd came into its own, allowing me to have a bit of fun leading the B final, drifting the car around most of the track..... Note to self.. remember to put more petrol in the tank next time!
Roll on Round Two.

It may already be in hand, but could the possibility of having a weekly updated league table be considered?
Cheers.

I have done a Top 15 PB time chart this morning! I'll add it to the results somewhere. I'm sure the points listings will be appearing soon as well. Sprig.

Ah right, thats tied up on the laptop at the moment. There is going to a slight problem as I see it, we had to split the class into two due to the lack of transponders as it seems that some people were uncooperative about fitting the PT's we have there. So if all the A final drivers automaticly get higher points than the B final drivers, which is the way the software wants to work it, the top 3 finishers in the B final get less points than the bottom 2 A finalists who had a poor final.
So it either stands as: on A before B 1st Grimbo. 2nd Adrian. 3rd Callum. 4th Oz. 5th Gerald. 6th Dave. 7th Keith. 8th Gordy, 9th Dean. 10th Martin.
Or on number of laps completed, 1st Grimbo. 2nd Adrian. 3rd Gerald. 4th Dave. 5th Keith. 6th Callum. 7th Gordy. 8th Dean. 9th Oz. 10th Martin.
Either way, your in second place at the moment Adrian.

Second at the moment Keith but only due to other driver's misfortunes!! I won't be there for long. So what's the way ahead? What about doing as someone suggested last meet about bumping up of the top however many of B finalists into the A final and take the final positions for points. I take it the program can't be tweaked. A

Its one of those problems, we really need to run two divisions, but we don't have enough 4wd with us at the moment to do a 2&4wd split. We could do a Horman & others split, but then if someone buys a hormann mid session they lose all their points when they start in the other division, and doesn't do much for club unity, or we just say that every one in the B final last week are in division 2. Bump ups do work, and are prob the best way to go, but it would be handy if everyone could have their cars set up to receive either the hand out or plug in transponders, that way we could have a full field of cars in the A final giving more people a bit of the cherry. Phil is looking into the setups to see if there are any tweaks we can make to the system and we did pick up a No. 6 transponder on ebay last night. There is nothing to say thats its working as it 'hasnt been tested' but that would then give us the 3 we need to make up the full set and we can have them all repaired together.

It'll be a shame if we have to run two divisions instead of keeping the scales together irrespective of drive. We don't want an us/them type of thing and everyone in 'THE' Final is what we want. Do the plug in transponders just plug into the receiver for power? My RX box is a pain to open so wouldn't be prepared to do it each heat, but I could run an extension out of the box to plug one in if that's what is required. What am I looking for (type/make/model) on e-Bay and elsewhere for a personal transponder should one come along? It may be a good idea that if anyone sees one for sale anywhere they post here in the forums to give anyone interested a chance to buy it.

Yep, they can either plug direct into a spare channel on the receiver, or a short extenshion wire, or if you dont have a spare channel, you can use a 'Y' lead to split the power or a servo feed to feed the transponder with the live and neutral. The type of transponder that works on the clubs timing gear is the old MRT 0-10 green ones for the AMB20 analog system. These are no longer available new, so can only be picked up second hand from people who no longer want/need them. You can try putting a wanted add on the other forums and see if anyone has one they no longer need. Phil and I have AMB20 as a saved search on our ebay pages for when anything comes up on there. It doesn't matter if you get one with a damaged wire, they are simple to replace.

Cheers for that Keith. I'll rig an extension lead out of my RX box so that I can accommodate the MRT unit shown above as well as the club wireless ones. In the meantime I'll keep a look out for a personal one too. A

Don't understand those results? When u look at the laps completed in the finals? Why have A and B final became its not fare on the racers in the B final?... Esp if no bump ups... Callum should b in 6th place sorely..... Just my view...
