Shane and I have this evening attended a meeting with the West Cornwall Motor show organisers, to discus our requirements at their show on the 30th of June at the Wendron Football ground, at Carnkie. Which is just a few miles from the track, so is ideally situated in our catchment area for attracting new drivers and boosting support for our sport.
What we have been given is 'Provisional' an area up to a third of one of the football pitches, were we can set up a secure running area for the cars, with the safety fencing on two sides and the boundary walls of field making the other two sides of a good sized rectangle, where we can lay out a small track and set up a few jumps, so we can show off what our cars can do, and entertain the visiting public.
There will be quite a bit going on at the show, with an expected attendance of around 4000-5000 people. So there should be a few potential new members among them.
As a setup, we will be using field shelters/gazbo's with a table and running display. Meeting and greeting the public, and promoting the club and the sport as a whole.
