Just popped into the track to pin down the loose ropes as I had a spare couple of hours and the tool shed is locked and I didn't bring a lump hammer with me.

At the track now Gaz but only for an hour so to do the ropes. Armed with lump hammer and crow bar.

That's all I can do with a lump hammer and a crow bar. The rope is fairing really well especially where it's staked through into the ground. A lot of stakes needed a tap and only a couple had come out on the corners. A lot of the elastic ties had come undone on the ropes but that's not a problem if we keep an eye on them until such times we come across longer stakes to put through the rope.
The barriers are doing okay. They need screwing in two places but the two far corners could do with some more support stakes behind them.
The weed killer Grimbo put down at the weekend doesn't seem to have taken effect yet. How long should it take?
There are are few patches on the track that need attention in critical areas on corners (very small ones) and other areas that need no more than pinning down.
Oh, there's a plank on the race control side of the pit lane that needs screwing in too.
Sprig, can you leave some astro pins out somewhere for me or whoever may pop up.
Cheers.

I'm just popping up as and when I have spare time Gaz. I'll try and let you know when but it's usually on the spur of the moment. if you arm yourself with 2.5"/3" screws, a screwdriver, a saw and a lump hammer you can't go wrong (that's what I'll be taking). If Sprig is there and the tool store is unlocked, anything can be done.

The boards/barriers are now all re-secured to their posts. The stakes that marked out the proposed widening of the track have been redeployed as strengtheners for the two far banked corners. Barriers and loose plank in pit lane/area also fixed. The weed killer is taking effect. Load of yellowing grass and weeds today. I didn't bring a Stanley knife or similar to make patches so that's the next repair job that needs doing. I found 10 reusable astro pegs but we need more from the store if there are any. (Sprig?) On top of that the usual ongoing cutting and sweeping still needs doing. That'll be me until next week.

Sounds like you are doing well Adrian, I'm not going to be there until Wednesday due to other commitments. Glad you have been able to get on with the barriers, there may still be some decent pegs that I made years ago behind the tires under the water tank, I'm sure we didn't use all of them. If you can just do any astro repairs that you think need doing and we can get them all pinned down next week. Sprig.

Certainly saw a difference when I pitched up his afternoon and saw what Sprig, Nathan and Phil had achieved. The weed killer is still doing it's stuff too. We're getting there.

All the astro-turf patches cut out earlier in the week and the loose bits that were identified are all pinned down now. There are a few more less critical and cosmetic areas that could be done if time and astro-pins allow.

…..we be down tomorrow am to help finish off...is there anything else we need?.... Just a couple of strong arms to drag a large piece of astro off the perimeter grass , otherwise mostly rakes and brooms which are all there. I should be up in the afternoon sometime.
